Spy Fi with a new twist

I’ve been a James Bond fan most of my life. My introduction to him was being taken to the cinema by my parents to see Goldfinger, I was nine years old and it blew my mind. After that I was a fan.

When I started writing the intelligence services I used in my books as Jack Dillon and those in the Col Sec series were heavily influenced by Fleming’s character. Not so much that I copied his work but more of an homage to it. I have always wanted to write a James Bond book, but which fan hasn’t?

I recently had talks with my publisher about some new projects that could run alongside the republished works of the Col Sec series. I pitched a few ideas to them and we settled on Duncan Pryde. This character’s adventures are set in a recognisable future and are filled with intrigue, political intrigue and all the action readers of my other works have come to expect.

Some might say “Oh this is the same old spy fi as before,” but they’d be wrong. There are elements of spy fi in this series but with a new twist which is the character of Duncan Pryde himself. There is a depth to him which is new, he is no cardboard cut out character, no James Bond copy although this series is my homage to that beloved character but I have made him different enough to make him unique.

The first book in the new series will hopefully be published on September 1st. If you are intrigued by this new series then drop a comment below, indeed if you have any comment about any of my work I would love to hear them. If you can’t wait until September 1st you could always grab a copy of Discovery, book 3 in the Col Sec series which is out on August 1st.
