I hate social media

Why do I hate social media so much, is it because I find it difficult to talk about myself? I don’t think so because in social gatherings I tend to share quite a lote, possibly too much so it isn’t that. Is it because social media has a wider range and can reach more people than you can fit in your home for a pparty or dinner party, maybe.

No one likes to be made fun of, and there are some who genuinly say it doesn’t bother them, but what about those others, the introverts, like myself who just want to be accepted for who they are? Many times I’ve commented online about something, usually a movie topic on a fan page or something along those lines and quite often have drawn trolls who are just interested in making a point, their point and are determined to get that point of view across and more often than not, the conversation turns ugly.

I was on tik tok to promote my books but I haven’t posted anything for quite some time, I really should get back there but every time I think I’ll post something, I can’t find a single thing to say. It amazes me how some creators just go on there and start talking as if they’re chatting to a friend, when I try that, my mouth dries up, I lose my train of thought and ultimately think, no one wants to see or hear that. It’s a confidence thing I suppose, and something I must work hard at overcoming if I want to post anything about my writing.

Another thing I find on social media is hate and disinformation. ALmost every other post is about the failings of one political party or the other, about how one side is conning the country or robbing us blind, and its no different in other countries, especially the US. If what we see through social media is true about it over there, you would think they’re on the brink of a civil war if this new election doesn’t go the way one side wants.

The world is a mess so my single voice would get lost in all the noise, so why bother?
