For most of my life I have had to wear glasses due to bad eyesight, I developed short sightedness early on when I was at school, probably around the age of six or seven, it’s so long ago I can’t remember how old I was actually. In the last few years I developed cataracts on both eyes which helped to worsen my eyesight so I was referred to the hospital to have them removed.
They did the left eye first because the cataract on the right eye hadn’t developed to the stage where it was bad enough for removal. This caused some problems with baancing my eyesight and to cut a long story short it was decided to remove the other cataraact.
Now I have a severe aversion to surgery on my eyes so I had to have a general anaesthitic for both operations but the outcome has been amazing. My eyesight has gone from being blurry to high def. I can see things in greater detail now than I ever thought possible.
All credit to the doctors and nurses to attended to me during both operations, they are absolutely wonderful and our NHS is the best in the world, a true national treasure that we must keep under any circumstances.
I feel like a new man, it has given me a new lease of life, I still have the other medical problems you get with old age but at least I can see properly for the first time since I was a kid.

Born with vision, it is so easy to overlook the importance of a good eyesight. Very positive post to read.
